New Name. New Look. Same Powerful Mission.
After more than two decades and over 767 events across the United States, the Walk from Obesity is getting a fresh new identity. Beginning in June, the program will officially relaunch as TREO Foundation’s The Walk — with a modernized look, renewed energy, and the same deep commitment to improving the lives of those affected by obesity.
This exciting rebrand is more than just a new name. The Walk represents progress, transformation, and the power of moving forward — a message that resonates with the patient journey and our shared pursuit of better health through treatment, research, education, and advocacy.
This fall, The Walk’s tagline will be “Stomp the Stigma!” At its core, The Walk is about taking steps — literal and symbolic — toward a future where obesity is no longer stigmatized or overlooked, but addressed with science-based care and compassion. The updated name brings a more inclusive and empowering identity to TREO Foundation’s top awareness and fundraising program, helping us better connect with the public, patients, and professionals alike.
Calling All ASMBS Members: Be a Leader in the Movement
This fall, TREO Foundation will kick off a new season of Walk events in communities across the country — and the application to host is now open! If you are an ASMBS member, this is your opportunity to bring The Walk to your community and lead a local effort to:
• Raise awareness of obesity as a chronic disease and the available treatment options
• Reduce stigma and promote change
• Advocate for access to treatment coverage
• Support TREO Foundation’s mission – Treatment, Research, Education
TREO provides marketing and planning tools, including step-by-step guidance to help you host a successful event that engages your patients, colleagues, and community.
We’re looking for passionate leaders ready to partner with us to take the next step. If you’re ready to get started, apply now to host The Walk this fall!
